A Treatise on Esoteric Ethics by Manly P. Hall is an essay in three parts is designed to enable individuals to distinguish between “black” and “white” magic, thereby avoiding practices and disciplines which may be detrimental to the character and dangerous to physical health.

Thius intended to be read like a stage play. The Initiation of Plato is a splendid summary of early mystery rituals compiled from various Greek and Egyptian sources.

This translation reproduced and translated by John Yarker (from the French version by Charles and Auguste Beaumont), reads like a prologue to a Masonic comedy in three acts entitled "The Freemason"” printed in 1867.

"The greatness of the ancients is directly traceable to their religio-philosophical institutions now called the MYSTERIES.

The temples of the Mysteries represented the finest achievements in architecture and art, and housed the literature and learning of many earlier generations.
